Rhapsody for Solo Cello 9’

 

The Rhapsody for Solo Cello is a chaconne in reverse order.  The music introduces all 10 variations before revealing its main theme in the end.  Each variation ends at a rehearsal number respectively. The main theme is based on octatonic scale, which provides the tonal foundation for the entire piece.
